Projects / Phizzybot
PhizzyBot is a now-defunct Discord bot that allowed members of the Discord server of The Official Podcast to play music within voice channels. It featured playback from SoundCloud and YouTube. Users could submit direct links to videos/music to place in the queue, or they could use the search function to choose from a list of videos/songs to play. PhizzyBot is no longer maintained for a variety of reasons, including some drama between the podcast hosts and the moderation team of the server (very much unrelated to the bot, but caused a mass-migration away from the server). The Discord.JS library has also changed substantially since PhizzyBot was created, and migrating away from the old version would be a massive undertaking for me for little benefit, considering the bot is no longer in use.
Other than Phizzy, I have a few other bots of note. First is Lucien, a bot designed entirely for scheduling events and get-togethers with my friends. He is designed to be talked to like a human, and can be summoned by saying his name. Users can create, get details about, and RSVP to events created with him.
Finally there's the confusingly named "He," which I also made for myself and my friends. He was originally a joke, and would say an ominous message when his name was mentioned. Now, though, he does honest work, like searching YouTube directly from a Discord text channel, or keeping track of the last time my friends and I made a bad joke.
